For some computer users, it is pretty normal to fill a laptop with stickers as a way to own it and make it unique… I’ve never been one to do that. However, that changed when I got my hands on my first Chromebook.

My first Chromebook is a Lenovo 11.6 inch N22 [the newer model is the Lenovo N23] . I got it a few years ago because we have a School that wanted to purchase 100 of them and we needed to get very familiar with the devices in order to support the students. The reviews were good and the price was attractive, but I was still only familiar with full blown laptops.

It took me less than 5 minutes from opening the box to sending emails, looking at my documents and being ready to go.

Since that purchase, we’ve sold about 200 more Lenovo Chromebooks at private schools. The Lenovo model has outlasted Samsung and Acer at the High School. If you have ever worked with students, you know they are not exactly gentle with devices…especially ones they do not pay for. We have models that are over three years old that are still working great.

After the wonderful experience of using my 11.6 inch Lenovo Chromebook every day for a year, I had the opportunity to upgrade. I decided to get a 14 inch touchscreen Lenovo N42. To my surprise, I could get 3 more inches of screen display and touchscreen capability for about $20 more than the 11.6 inch model.

I carry this lightweight, fully functional device with me everywhere. The touchscreen helps me work faster, the battery lasts 9 hours, and if it breaks I can replace it for around $200! I can use it offline to read and schedule emails. I can access by G Suite drive files that are cached on the device and I can access any content from a USB attached device.

For those who want an affordable solution that works really well and is easy to replace, the Lenovo Chromebook is a must try.

Here are some of the applications that I use to make my Chromebook even better.

If you are an educator or G suite user, this device is something that will enhance you student’s experience. Give us a call or fill out the contact us form for a quick conversation to see if it makes sense in your environment.
