How do you give back to the community that supports your business?
There are so many benefits that come from entrepreneurship. For me, The Critical Update is a tool to make Austin a better place to live. Since 2003, we have been involved in a large number of events, opportunities, and been able to help non profits, the unemployed, families without funds to purchase a computer.
The latest enriching experience was two weekends ago, where I was able to conduct mock interviews and share some experiences with candidates for the Jobs for Life program at Gateway Church. To our knowledge, this is the first Jobs for Life in Austin…ever! The graduation was today and to be a part of an experience that builds confidence and can truly change how a family thrives in Austin is humbling.
How do you serve the community that provides for your family? As a business owner, you have the ability to create jobs, train and create better opportunities for Austin residents. If we can build into people who work in our companies, everybody wins!
My challenge is:
- Find opportunities through local Non Profits where your experience can help prepare potential employees.
- Find ways to build community around your business. This can be done through networking and community partnerships. Strong community builds strong families.
- Enjoy your “purpose”. Our purpose is to provide technology and cyber security services to help clients focus on their core and create more jobs for Austin families.
Enjoy the ride and Keep Austin strong.
